Tina Bara

Tina Bara was born in 1962 in Kleinmachnow. She studied science of history at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1980 to 1986.

Afterwards she worked at the "Association of Artists of the GDR" as a freelance photographer and artist (eg for DEFA Studio for documentary films) from 1986 to 1989. In those years she completed a correspondence course in photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig.

She moved to West Berlin in July 1989.

In 1991 she obtained a diploma in subsequent at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst at Prof. Arno Fischer.

Since 1992 Tina Bara is a member of the German Society for photography (DGPh), since 1993 she is a professor of photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig.

Tina Bara lives and works in Berlin, Leipzig and Bonisdorf (Austria).
