Rilo Chmielorz

Rilo Chmielortz was born in 1954 in Lünen/Westphalica. She lives and works as a free artist in Spain, in addition she works in art therapy projects in the field of children's and youth psychology.

She first studied geography and textile design at the University of Cologne and began her studies in the Liberal Arts at the University of applied sciences Cologne with Prof. Spoerri, Vary and Skubic in 1978. From 1988-93 she teaches at the Studio stage in Cologne and begins at the same time an additional study of art therapy at the curative education faculty of Cologne. Since 1992 she developped many art therapeutical projects. In 1994, she founded the ÜBERGANGSRAUM (transition room) e.V..

Since 1984 she participates in numerous solo and group exhibitions, performances and biennials of contemporary music at home and abroad, such as in the alter Wartesaal, Cologne; Sculpture Museum Glaskasten Marl; International Festival of contemporary music, Alicante (E); Circulo de Bellas Artes, Madrid; Donaueschinger Musiktage, Galerie Beck & Eggeling, Düsseldorf; Industriemusem/Zeche Zollern, Dortmund; Grand Palais, Paris; Artpool Research Center, Budapest; Arts Museum, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Since 2004, she is collaborating with the artist Pedro Lopez and founded with him the art collective "Jardin de las Delicias" (GARDEN OF DELIGHTS), whose interactive sound installations and performances such as the Biblioteca Francesca Bonnemaison, Barcelona and La Casa Encendida, Madrid were to see.
